Nice but hard to install

The fire place hood is fine. Very difficult to install. The hardware that came with the hood was inadequate for my fireplace. I had to improvise by specially have made attachments to the brackets in order to install the hood. The bottom part of the brackets were not long enough. I would recommend it to my friends with the caveat about the brackets.

I was surprised how this hood, which sticks out only a few inches, is wide enough to deflect that heat out ot the way from my wooden mantle.

The fireplace hood is very nice. It had a center section that slides between two end pieces to make it adjustable up to 48". Some hoods have just one seam, but this one has two. It looks nice and was easy to install. [...]

It was hard to install the brackets. There is a very small dent on the right side section (if you are facing it). It is noticible when the light is on it.
